One Pissed Miss

Missed the Cut this Miss now Pissed and Cut

There was at Prego a post engagement party
Midday Saturday they had all sat down
Ordered Pinot Noir, Merlot and Chardonnay
Sipping in the sun all day long with lunch
Sauvignon Blanc and several shots or two
As time slips by, Port, and dinner time is gone
Mirth and laughter a while now exhausted
The maudlin hangers-on linger, stagger to the door
And hard core saunter into the next corner bar.
Now she is all alone, all others gone, eyes rolling
Blood shot, and propped on a bar stool incoherent.
This once pretty miss had missed the cut, got cut
And not one gentleman is here to take her home.
