The Tree that Was on One Tree Hill
Inland Icon overlooks the sea
an obelisk to accompany thee.
What stories you could tell
could you speak before you fell.
Four winds conspiring in your downfall,
you stood with us to see our roll call
for all our follies for duty and honour
yet a traitor in our midst did plunder.
And had you choice to reproduce
your own kind on that windy ridge
you'd surely see the folly in
being next that Icon of man's whim.
So rest in peace you mighty fellow.
That we've looked up to you is shallow.
Alone you've weathered every storm.
Be that the glory in your form.
