Time to Consider - Love - Part II

Tell Me That You Love Me

Tell me, please, you love me - you know - how much -
That your loyalty, your duty, and such and such -
Are all contained within the bounds you need;
Your virtue, my feelings, to be freed.

But if you feel that opens up the door,
The one you needed closed a time before
(perhaps some secret longing in your soul)
Then come to me, my darling - let God decide who's in gene's bowl.

BARD

There will always be some reasons
(which are as fickle as the seasons)
Why our mind will tell us something
That heart and soul should believe in.

Our myths know Love and War all powerful,
Our ballads and literature by the bucketful
Survive on these the major themes,
The denial of, the killer of our dreams.

So rational thought brought tan at winter time
(vanity competes with sunburn in the fine)
And wild flowers blooming in the spring
Could not say what needed to be sung.

"The winter of our discontent" was just a flight
To summer over there, with reasoned hope, this might,
Given soul's despair, repair a broken heart,
That Autumn might have broken full apart.

To muses unrequited love is very powerful,
Would she send this man to War, love being his downfall?
Who with her inspiration acts on stage
For you and all in your domain to gauge.

Please put me down?

Don't tell me that you like me as a friend.
What bullshit call is that to attend?
Better said "you are for ridicule" -
An inner circle "joke - old fool".
